I lifted this from a Facebook post I saw this morning and it instantly made me want to write today’s blog about self awareness and taking responsibility for EVERYTHING in your life.
“I was looking at computers from Best Buy, Amazon, and HP along with some cameras over the past couple of weeks. I saw the best prices on this past Friday and Saturday but, I figured wait until Cyber Monday and there will be even better deals. Guess what? These reputable companies RAISED there prices on Cyber Monday and worded them like they were such great deals. If this happened in physical stores I would imagine it was illegal or there would be people pissed off at the very least. There is no regulation online and these companies pulling this crap is not good to unsuspecting people who think they are really getting BETTER deals. In summary everyone (and my opinion), Cyber Monday is a big companies way of marketing the day to actually get you to send MORE money.”
Victim mentality! That’s what is wrong with so many people in our country. That may even be what’s wrong with you. We look to some other person or gov agency to make the rules on the playground fair. It’s life – and it’s not fair – sorry I had to be the one to break it to you!
Your business may be suffering because you think woe is me. Toughen up buttercup. It’s business and if you want to survive off the porch it’s going to take a sense of control. Control of your environment, your finances, your time, your relationships, yourself.
Imagine what type of world we would live in if everyone took fault as a first reaction instead of paying blame?
Have a flat tire this morning? Don’t yell at the nail in your tire – maybe you should have taken a different route.
Late for work? Don’t blame traffic – maybe you should have left earlier.
This has been one of the most profound principles of success that I have found. And it has really helped me put a razor sharp edge on my businesses. Try it out. You won’t be disappointed – because after all – you will be responsible the entire time.
